New Bike Advice

Postby Xiandel » Thu Nov 22, 2012 12:56 pm

Hi, my bike got stolen and I have £600 to get a new one and I'm after some advice please.
I will be using my bike to cycle to work but also for the ocasional triathlon/race as well as recreational rides with mith my farther (about 20 miles).
My previous bike was a giant 4 defy, which I was quite happy with but I would maybe like something lighter?

Just to clarify, I don't know bikes anything technical goes over my head, I don't know where to start looking I'm just after a recomendation for the best bike for my budget.

Thankyou for your time/

Lighter does not equal better (it makes very little difference), and is particularly insignificant for the sort of riding that you are doing! Go to a bike shop and find one you like, if not just another Defy 4; if you liked it it seems like a very safe choice. :)

I doubt you would get anything signifcantly lighter for that amount anyway.
For the kind of riding you seem to be doing I would suggest you just go to the shop, see what they have and choose something that fits well and feels nice to ride.

How many Triathlons and races did you do on your Defy?
