A few choices to look at to get you going. All will be displayed at full RRP and TSP and, where applicable, the latest model. Will be updated, not complete yet.

Sub £300- the typical starting point for many riders.

Decathlon Rockrider 5.2, £230 - features a great eight speed drivetrain for the cash, sturdy components, adjustable fork and superb warranty.


Sub £600 - often the price point that people look to get into the sport or upgrade from a more basic unit.

Carrera Vulcan, £480 - test winner at MBUK, a solid performer with that all important fork damping.

Decathlon Rockrider 8.1, 500 - not many bikes for this money pack in so meany features ie damped RS fork, hydraulic brakes, 27 speed drivetrain and sub 30lbs weight. The king of the budget bikes.



Trek 4500D, £575 - classy frame from one of the biggest bike companies in the world, but still packs in a great spec that performs well on the trail.

Sub £1000 - top quality machines that beat the sub 1k price point ___________________________________________________________________

Boardman Comp HT, £650 - excellent fork and frame, low overall weight and top notch finishing kit.



Genesis Core 26.3, £850 - multi award winning bike from the UK based designers, features a superb fork, solid drivetrain and tough wheelset.
