That's absolutely preposterous, John Barnes used to endure "90 minutes of pure hell" on just Lucozade isotonic,

Footballers are real athletes and real hard men. Training every day until 13.30 then playing a 90 minute game once or twice a week for a miserable £200,000 a week at the top level.

a lot of them do charity bike rides now too, they re real hard core.

This comparison comes up every time someone gets smashed on the tour and heroically clambers back on to the bike but faking injury in football is used to gain an advantage, it's the prime method of cheating and nothing to do with players being soft. Cycling just has a different form of cheating as rolling around holding your shin doesn't really gain you anything.

As a football fan that's a fair point well made.

What does irk me about football commentators/pundits/managers etc is the excuse of "TIREDNESS".

FFS, a couple of games of football a week at most. They've been trained to play and it's not like they have owt else to do that will sap their energy; apart from "clubing"and dubious sexual encouters.
Tail end Charlie

The above post may contain traces of sarcasm or/and bullsh*t.

And shagging each others wives by all accounts before placing bets on pre-arranged outcomes of matches.
We're all buffoons; some slightly less than others.
