Carbon fibre looks so nice! Also, did you buy a different seat to the stock one?

Love the bike, just wondered if you could give us an update on how it's going.

I tried out an Epic at the weekend and really enjoyed it, this would be my first full sus bike and just wanted to get some feedback from someone who is running one before I take the plunge.

Cheers!

I've tested an S-Works Epic and it was extremely fast - it's basically a road bike for the mountain.
Stamp on the pedals and the power transfer is instant. Narrow bars (by today’s standards) and a long cockpit set you up into racing mode. It’s a perfect bike to extract every ounce of your fitness to the trail.

If you’re looking for something a bit more fun and forgiving for trail center riding then get a Stumpjumper FSR with more travel and slacker angles.

The Epic is a racing machine !!!

Although I agree that it is a racing machine, I also think it is a far better ride than the Stumpy (tried one of those out a couple of weeks back). The Stumpy felt far too upright and bouncy to be a good XC ride, and as you said, it felt more like a fun bike. Although I loved being able to power through the bumps/roots without feeling a thing it just felt like I was riding around on a pogo-stick (yes I did experiment with the various suspension settings, even after have them set up correctly for me in the shop).

On the Epic you can feel the bumps more (than the stupmy), but they don't shove your saddle up your @rse like a hardtail. I finished my ride feeling a lot fresher than I do normally.

Bouncy? Mine certainly isnt bouncy, the rebound needs adjusting on the one you tried.

Hey PaulBox if you grab yourself an Epic you wont regret it .... i love mine to bits, im not the best rider in the world but feel more confident in my riding knowing i have this bike supporting my fat ars* :? lol .... i've had the bike a few months and not been affraid to tackle any trails that have popped up... the 100mm travel soaks up most things i've ridden. I would definitely recommend buying one
