Covered in mud at the moment ;)
but here is a shot with both the enduro and the rockhopper (mrs diy's bike) in and her giant sedona in the background (which she prefers to her rockhopper - silly bint). Plus my 1050 sprint too.

The Rebas are standard QR, they came with the 'hopper, but are wasted on my mrs, so I swapped the toras for the rebas, along with the XT rear mech and seat post :D

TBH I have no real reason to upgrade the frame other than its old and A1 is a bit heavy compared to the M-series. Not sure I will go for another newer enduro frame because of the amount of kit I'd have to change.

some nitro powered f150 or similar from memory. I think its around 2.8hp out of a 4cc motor I think. Goes like stink and we run it without the cab on. I haven't used it for ages.

I had a thought to gear it down and put it on a micro scooter.

WHAT LIGHTS DO I CURRENTLY RECOMMEND

Option 1 - Torches
2-4 of 501b or 502b (400-450 otf lumen)
Or from here 501b xm-l
or from here

Lightmalls:
501b t6 or U2 version

If you want something with a larger head for the bars look at the c8

Mount this
or this
or this mount
Charger
Mount
Cells

some 18650 laptop batteries from old laptops or ebay
or buy them here

Charger
here
or here

Option 2

or the complete light (approx 800 otf lumen)

WHAT DO I DO IF MY TORCH DOESN'T WORK
Watch My Video

HOW DO I MAKE CHEAP BIKE LIGHT MOUNTS
Watch my other video
See Pic

HOW DO YOU MOUNT YOUR TORCHES TO YOUR LID?
1
2

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LEDS?

501b Beam shots.
Canon D450 EFS18-200 F3.5 100ISO 2.5 sec
XRE 230 Lumen 250 max
MC-E 450 Lumen 800 max
XPG 400 Lumen 500 max
XM-L 500 Lumen 1000 max
2 XM-L 1K Lumen 2k Max

Appeared a lot brighter to the naked eye camera was ground level torches were head height.

XM-L gives the intensity of the XPG with the flood of the MC-E

Hi mate,

Can't work out how to PM you? Quick question before I pull the trigger on some nice new lights. Will I be better off spending a little more and getting C8's over 501b's for the bars? Been looking at a coulpe for the bars and a 501b for the helmet?

Ta,
Sam

probably not. They wont produce any more light and if you are going for 3, then you will have plenty of light. I'd go with

http://www.lightmalls.com/ultrafire-501 ... ht-1-18650

or

http://www.lightmalls.com/ultrafire-501 ... flashlight

order all 3 the same and you should get bulkrate discount.

I have disabled PMs, which is why I cannot be pm'd. only because I never really check them until weeks afer.

Cheers mate, gone for 3 of the U2 variants for Lightmalls and the mounts/cells/chargers you've recommended from Manafont. Hopefully they don't take to long or get stung by customs!
Thanks again,
Sam

diy, thanks for making that excellent video on Youtube on how to fix the common problems with these Chinese torches.

I have got three of these WF-502b torches and two seem to have problems with the switch at the end. You've almost only got to look hard at the switch and it will change mode! They very slightest of touches will make it switch and so does a shake. The switch is far too sensitive. Any fixes for this?

Just a note that the battery charger linked to above from DIY is for a US plug, so if you require UK change it. (I've found out the hard way, ha)

Just cut the plug off and put a uk one on - the chargers are good for 240~ volt If you have a sku for one with a uk charger bung it up.

I've just plugged it into a UK visitor adapter rather than mess around with the wiring.

The lights are fantastic btw, I shall try them tonight. I've found the manafont mounts a bit fiddly though, be interesting to see how they fare.

Thanks again.
