Victoria Pendleton retiring soon :-(

Postby DF33 » Fri Apr 06, 2012 13:24 pm

She's just announced it during the world champs this afternoon. retiring after the Olympics. I went to make a cuppa and came back to have missed her speech but the commentators talking about it.

Shame. I expect she wants a life outside training.

It isn't new news, I think she made an announcement last year about it.

Was in last weeks Sunday Times sports too, interesting full page article.

As a complete outsider to track cycling seemed a pity that her last Gold worlds won on a relegation fault on sprinters line (both thro` semis and finals), I`m sure all would have preferred a clean fault free result

Then again it suggests she's made the right decision.

Be interesting to see how she shapes up in London. I would still back her to win one gold.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

She tweeted recently that she has just set a new personal best in terms of power when out on the track.

I really hope she gets to the final of the sprint and is up against Mears.
