Looking good, your lowers cannot be powder coated and if they say they can they don't have a clue, they can be wet sprayed np, a good 2 pack poly will be really tough if you want them done.

But on your first ride I gaurantee a stone will chip them anyway, clean and new decals as the guys have all ready said, you won't tell, honest....

Gonna be a nice bike that.

That's fairly standard for DH forks. Uplifts make a mess of fork lowers.

looking good!!

i would probably leave the forks, it's not worth the effort as forks get scratched easily anyway + they're not even that bad.

are you gonna use the deore rear mech? i hope you're not because oranges are noisy enough! do your self a favour and get a saint mech

They looked a lot better once i'd scraped all the manky sticker and glue off.

TBH i'm just gonna get a touch up pen and some decals as i've just spoke to a couple of sprayers and they want £60 prepped or £100 with prep. THATS HALF WHAT I PAID FOR THE FORK!!!!

Nope the deore mech will be going... just keeping an eye on a m810 saint mech on fleabay.

Rims and rubber i'm not too sure of yet... not got that far. I was gonna do a black and yellow theme so original idea was generators or deemax but we'll see.

If you're on a budget, I'd opt for a close ratio road cassette and a short cage road rear mech.

You should be able to pick up a cheap 11/27 or 11/25 105 or Ultegra cassette relatively easily. The equivalent rear mech shouldnt cost much second hand either. You get the advantages of a light weight set up with a close ratio cassette and the rear mech is fairly small so less likely to get pranged on rocks etc.

Road mech with a short cage SLX mech works pretty well

oh right good! btw i wouldn't go with generators. they're ok for all mountain but for dh they dent too easily. my mate dented his rear rim quite badly and he's only about 10stone.

you can get deemaxs for a good price used, and they're really strong wheels

Generators are stronger than Deemax's!
Anyone can dent a rim, no matter how heavy they are, especially if your tyres are too soft. I'm 16 stone & I have used generator wheels and they are solid even though I tend to kill wheels. If you have a couple hundred pounds to spend on wheels I would go for Mavic EX721's on Superstar Switch Evo hubs, I had a set & they are absolutely bomb proof. Dead true even after four races & several uplift days

looking sweeeet, like others have said, lowers will get pretty scratched as soon as you get on an uplift, might as well leave them.

At 100 sheets for prep and spray i'll just get a touch up pen and new decals (although i've got a couple of Monster Energy stickers i could just whack on) .

Just need to get hold of a cheap 2nd hand direct stem..

Nope not yet.. still looking around... think i might start out on a set of Superstar DHX wheels then move onto something more substantial later on.
