3.16 kgs the frame, according to my kitchen scales. weighing all the bits seperately and adding up, that includes the shock. Total build not sure yet need to find my luggage scales out

Nooo, I liked it because its steep, I loved the handling of my hardtail, and wanted something that responded like it. Think it suits how I ride. I'm not really a gravity fiend, I want to start doing done good length trekking, but with some comfort.

looks very nice indeed, you had to get the colour i really wanted didn't you

yeh thats one thing i noticed immediately its massively high, i literally have to climb onto it :P compared with my stumpjumper. But tbh i don't think it lacks at all especially with a high volume shock because it has such soft cushioning on the down hill, feels like your floating (annoying as i have naff forks on mine atmo its very uneven) but with forks like yours set to match the rear end it must feel fantastic

Cheers for the praise guys

Noppy to me it doesn't feel that high, to give you an idea, the focus my forks came from were cut to that length and had 10mm of spacing as opposed to to 40mm this needs and the seat post was as low as possible, this gives me almost 3" standover by comparison. Yet to ride it as I've been waiting for a seatclamp to come, but that's here now so will be having a blast tomorrow.

Cheers, had to go with gold, for now at least, the black one I had I could only route cable tying it to the top gear cable but was rubbing the top tube too much. The only cables I had long enough were gold or pink

Well, how about we both have a go on her and Shakira at the same time make it aproperly premiership experience.

Just taken her for he first outing at Cwmcarn an shaved 35 mins off my best time, got round in an hour 5 including 3 laps of the freeride.

Initial impressions were a little odd though, very light and twitchy on tech climbs given the geometry, butsettled down a bit when I steepened her further dropping to 100mm up front and locking out. I think a 50mm stem and a 750 bar may be overkill and the cause of some of this so going to try a 70/75 mm see if that sures her up. Downhill though she was planted and felt seemed like I was riding slow but was carrying more speed round the freeride than usual uas I was getting a fair bit of air off the jumps, not hge amounts but more than usual, despite the thick mist.

positive so far but now shes undergoing surgery to fettle her stretched cabling and make her suitable for a road jaunt next week. 3x9 gearing and some semi slicks about to be installed

Ok fettling done, and for the short term shes now running 22/32/44 SLX rings thanks to Bails, the chain device has been ditched and she has new shoes in the form of a set of Schwalbe Sammy Slicks. Also gone for the time being is the x9l chain for a standard x9, mainly because it was cheap and I needed the extra length for running a big ring. I have had far much more reliability from kmc chains than shimano.

Image

Shes undergone this surgery to make her more suited to a 200 mile (over 3 days) road ride for The Kaiser Challenge, in memory of forumite Alex Kaiser (Kaise) who passed away in May aged just 28. The ride is to raise cash, and awareness for CMA, The Cardio Myopathy Associatein and CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young. The ride is from Kaise's home town of Glossop in Derbyshire, to just south of Bristol on the 7th July, the day, and the place he was due to marry his Fiance Sarah.

If you would like to support me and the the other 60+ riders taking part in this challenge, go to www.thekaiserchallenge.com and give just a few quid, or at least stop by and have a look.

Cheers

Good luck to you and everyone else on the challenge Gaz.

Have you bought any chamois cream yet? I'd recommend it!

The bike's looking good, bet you're chuffed with it from the sound of things. I'll have to pencil myself in for a demo ride too
