I couldn't find a way to do it.
I now follow your suggestion and record everything on Strava and then import to Endomondo when I remember.

There's a facebook app called activities. That can pull all your data off endomondo to its own servers. You can then download it all from there in one nice zip file. You can then unzip these and email them in bulk to strava and they'll be added to your profile and segments matched. Activities can take a while to sync, took about a week for me but I managed to transfer 399 workouts from endomondo to strava this way.
