LARGE skull cap?

Postby Bigpikle » Sun Sep 23, 2012 19:20 pm

Looking for a large skull cap that will cover my ears - any ideas? Having a larger size head I find everything leaves my ears exposed and cold :( Castelli comes close, my Rapha wool cap is much too small. Stretchy ones always seem to just ride.

Windproof front ideal but roubaix style as a minimum. Can anyone recommend anything please?

I've got a big head and use an endura thermolite cap. covers my ears fine.

I have two:

1. Aldi synthetic special - cost very little - came with overshoes - has been fantastic especially in filthy wet conditions

2. Icebreaker merino - reversible wool and much more expensive and breathable - I'm reluctant to use it in really bad conditions but I probably should use it more - the wool retains thermal properties even when wet.

Of the two if I could only have one I would keep the icebreaker (I use it for skiing too).

Have you tried the Assos fuguCap_S7? The larger size covers 58-63cm head circumference.

I currently use a buff as able to leave it open on top to let heat out, have used it down to -5 with no problems. When it gets colder or cold and windy at same time i have one with a fleecy / roubaix neck piece that tucks in nicely.
