Not a K-Edge, but here is my Barfly that I just got from Probikekit. It fits really nicely and seems to hold the Garmin nice and securely. I like it! I think it looks very cool and it's a really good position for the Garmin. :)

Me neither, just how often are you looking at the computer?

Not sure I understand why you would drop £35 on this, never had a problem with the stem mount either. Is it an issue with shorter stems?

I have a very nice looking stem, that I can no longer see because there's a garmin sat on top of it

Can't wait to get a K-edge mount.

I mount my iPhone on my stem and the garmin in front. Then I don't have to worry about iPhone getting sweated up in my back pocket, or the risk of coming off and landing on it.

Hi, it's Arundel Gecko tape. It was a bit of a faff to get on as the adhesive backing comes away easily, but now it is on it's very grippy and padded.

My printed mount arrived today, looks like I thought it would so happy with it.

I'm now going to have a look how it can be improved on & model something on CAD & get it 3d printed myself.

Made this with the reflector clamp that came with the bike and cut a bit of 2mm aluminium and drilled a 32mm hole and fitted the garmin mount inside the hole and held this in place with a ally strap underneath pop riveted in?

It does help having the mount further forward as it is in my line of site now plus it is easier to press the buttons.
I will upload a side view of the bike when I get the picture off my phone.
Thanks for the Bar tape link Cubic.

Just a thought. Having not seen a k-edge mount in the flesh. Do you feel the k-edge mount being metal could cause excessive wear to the garmin?

Not a short stem issue - at least not for the 90mm stems I use.

The first couple of times I put my Garmin onto the K-edge it shaved a tiny amount of plastic off the Garmin; I've fitted and removed the Garmin dozens of times now and it hasn't done it since. This hasn't effected the fit with the standard mount at all, so I'm not overly bothered.

Yeah it was tight to fit the first few times when I used it as well, tight compared to the plastic standard mount. It did remove a very small amount of plastic from the garmin but it was tiny and only happened once

Not a short stem issue - at least not for the 90mm stems I use.

Reasons for the mount:

(1.1) As I am refusing to cut the top of my forks and have moved the spacers to the top, with my 110 mm stem the Edge no longer fits.
(1.2) I also have a PX carbon stem which it's a lot wider diameter than a standard stem, and not consistent diameter... which means it doesn't really fit well and moves. You might say get a new stem, but the wider PX carbon stem really stiffens up the front end on the PX SL

(2) It's puts the Garmin in a better position so that you can look at it without taking your eyes off the road. If the front end is dropped and you have a short stem and/or compact frame, you almost have to look at your feet to see the Garmin. You could argue this is a minor inconvenience unless racing, but there is no need to be inconvenienced.
Garmin have worked out that this style of mount is preferable, since they are bringing one to market.

If the issues above are not an issue for you, then you have no requirement for the new mount.
It obviously doesn't mean it's not an issue for others... I am sure we all have slightly different positions on the bike as well as different frame geometries.

I have a long term injury to my right eye as a result of an attack 4 years ago, meaning that I cannot look downwards with it as the muscles are permanatly damaged. This makes seeing the computer when mounted on the stem a real issue. Just moving the computer a few inches further forwards makes a massive difference. so if it's OK with you I'm happy dropping £35.

Yeah nathancom - you are so thoughtless not guessing that Mark Elvin has damaged eyes. I mean, you should have known
