Donor parts on whippet frame

Postby Cubist » Thu Oct 04, 2012 17:23 pm

Just wondering - if I get myself an on-one whippet frame, how easy will it be to stick the parts from a 2012 cube acid on it? Id be putting a higher spec fork on it immediately, but upgrading any other parts would be gradual initially. Any glaring compatibility issues?

Seatpost, seatclamp (maybe), Headset. I think everything else will be ok.

Bottom bracket is a BB92 on the Whippet. Cables probably need changing, hoses might be too long/short. Fork steerer too.

Well, Id be getting a better fork straight away to do the lightweight frame justice. I understand the bit about the cables and hoses but its the bb thing - would the crankset from the acid be incompatible?

Yes, will not fit, would need a BB92 chainset and BB.

I don't think the front mech would fit either, the whippet uses a direct mount mech.
