rockshox reverb internal routing question

Postby lordmerchant » Fri Oct 05, 2012 18:20 pm

Just got hold of a revrb for my zesty 314, however i don't have a bleed kit for it. Does anybody know if its possible to quickly remove the lever thread through the frame and reattach without getting air in the system?

Yeah I did it with my zesty, had to shorten the cable a bit though, never bled it either.

what was your technique, did you remove it from the lever end? also looks like it could be a bit of a ball ache to thread it through the frame..any tips?

Yeah jut took the lever off, threading is fun, I taped a piece of string to an old spoke leaving about 3 ins loose at the end and push it in from the top, once I could see it at the bottom, pulled it out, untaped the spoke, taped the reverb hose to the string and gently pulled it through. Trimmed to length an screwed the lever on.

Be lucky to do all that without getting any air in though.

wasnt too hard in the end, managed to get it through the frame easily enough. Did require a little squirt of fluid though - luckily my avid bleeding kit syringe fit perfectly.

My Reverb came with bleeding kit... didn't yours?

Threading it through my 712 X-Flow was a nightmare, but I think this was mainly because I got the hose the wrong side of the guide in the head tube (not sure if the Alu Lapierre frames have this so might not effect you).

I used garden wire to pre thread the route, and then guided the reverb cable through with this. It definitely needed a bleed, but then I was faffing with it for over an hour.
