Continental Ultra Race - Any good

Postby diy » Mon Oct 08, 2012 12:21 pm

I don't really know much about road tyres, I currently have Continental Ultra sports, which came with my boardman. The tread is starting to go a bit and I think I might replace as I am getting punctures.

Are the Ultra races a good replacement?

These tyres were on my recently purchased bike and was pleasantly surprised as to how good they were/are. I am a fan of conti 4000/s ( a more expensive option) but recently had to replace one due to a bad cut whereas the Ultra's remain unmarked

Continental Gatorskins are good they offer excellent puncture resistance, if you commute i'd definitely recommend them.

I preferred the Ultra Sports to the Ultra Races. They lasted longer and, although this comes down to luck, I got fewer punctures
