Actually don't know, maybe 2-300g less than when I bought it, I'm not overly concerned with bike weight yet, I've plenty of excess I can loose of my body before I need to worry about that. Anything aftermarket that has gone onto the bike has either been for better fit (stem and cranks) or because I got them cheap (saddle and bars).

Yes, what would be the weight with the new additions? I'm looking at a set of Reynolds Solitude's on my 57cm soon. Mine weights in at 19.5 lbs. Funny, When I caught the BMC bug, I had my eye on the Road Racer. The gents at the bike shop hung it on the scale for me. 17.6lbs..., Seems 3 grand for the Carbon and the difference didn't compute. Now I'm wondering with the new Reynolds, what it will scale my Road Racer out to. BTW, really noticing and enjoying the high speed, solid tracking of this bike. In addition to the comfort after 60mi rides :D

No, I've just finished readjusting a few bits. Pulled a hamstring slightly 2 days ago after a 60mi ride. Was headed out today, turned back with a slight soreness behind my left knee still. When I got back home I redialed my seat hight position down slightly, seems it was a little high... This quieted my hips and shorted my leg extension. Much better! I should have been more diligent with my fitting and less excited about the new ride, parts etc.. I could have avoided this. Not bad though, hope to get up to speed again a perhaps compete down the road once I get my miles up. I was wondering about your wheels. I've been looking at these Reynolds Solitudes. Any thoughts on wheels, your choice, and any others in a reasonable price point?

It might seem a little high, I've adjusted in a few different positions as I'm on the hoods 80% and the finger reach is perfect on the downs, which is mostly in head winds or DH's.

good to see there are a few other guys using this bike. I genuinely really enjoy using mine, and compared to some friends recent purchases (cube/ fuji/ boardman) at the same price point i reckon i made the best decision. shame they aren't being made any more!

2012 appears to be the last model year for the StreetRacer.....its not in the 2013 catalog. Seems like BMC will be concentrating on carbon frames for their road bikes.

I stand corrected........Gran Fondo model GF02 is a triple butted aluminium frame with carbon fiber fork.

Nice looking brakes. I'm after some of the same. If you don't mind me asking: Where did you get them and for how much? How's their performance compared to what they replaced?

I actually bought them, unused, from someone on here, but they're planet-x brakes. Don't notice any difference between them and the shimano (R541???) brakes they replaced to be honest, but they look damn cool

Lovely looking bike. If you are still having trouble with your knee(s), it might be pedal/foot/cleat angles. e.g. my right foot naturally points outwards, left straight ahead = if the cleats are straight on my shoes, I strain my right knee. The solution is to sit on a kitchen work top, dangle your legs nice and relaxed and look at the position of your feet. Then adjust your cleats on your shoes so the cleats point forwards and the shoe is angled as the foot was when it was dangling. Apologies if you've tried this already!

So my BMC has seen a few changes since buying it in March 2012, but here it is in it's current configuration, ready for the first race in about 4 hours time...

I've made a few changes also, Burned through a set and 1/2 of Hutch. Fusion 3's. Weak side walls, not the best for durability. So now I'm liking the red Michelins Lithion 2's Cheaper and a smoother ride, we'll see how they fair on the long end, but I hear they're durable. The red color sets off the bike and Nuvation R28sl's off well.

I really like the new wheel addition. What are they exactly? How did your race go today? I don't see many Street Racers here is So Cal, Carbon rules the road and with competitive cyclist here. Are you unique in a aluminum frame in competition? How does it compare to the carbons you race against? I'm really liking mine, but I don't race.

Wheels are PRO RC50 tubs, bought from Ollie cb on here.

Not sure who has carbon and who has aluminium frames to be honest, probably more carbon now that I think about it. Can't really afford to upgrade the frame to something I'd like at the minute so happy to race on aluminium. Can't see the frame making too much of a difference considering the level I'm at, plenty of room for improvement as far as my power/fitness goes before I need to worry about the finer details like frame weight etc...

First race as cat 3 yesterday, was tough enough, caught cat 4 and rode through them, few cat 1/2's bridged across to us, made the break and didn't feel out of my depth, unfortunately suffered a puncture 6km from the finish that ended my race, will be racing on clinchers til payday when I can afford new tubs...

New addition since, changed my KCNC SC wing stem for an FSA OS115 stem to match my k-force bars....
