very interesting...

British-registered

Jo Rowsell, Laura Trott, Dani King, plus the young 'uns Elinor Barker and Amy Roberts. Plus HEAVYWEIGHTS (channelling Frenchie, there) Giorgia Bronzini, and Rochelle Gilmoure who's the team owner.

Amongst the backers are Wiggins and the Wiggo Foundation

Good stuff - pity for them they didn't sign Lucy Garner who looks like becoming the GB number 1 but I suppose it's good to have the GB riders spread around different teams.

Women's cycling bores me, but this new Team can only be a good thing, so thumbs up!

Bit of a kick in the goolies to all those saying Wiggins was all mouth and no trousers on women's cycling.

Oh ye of little faith.

Good stuff. Speculation that Sky may ultimately be the lead sponsor, but I think it would be great if it turned out to be a different "global company based in the UK".

Hmmm....they're going to be riding Pinarellos, which made me wonder...but that could just be the Wiggo connection

Yeah the Pinarello link certainly at least suggests Sky. Not that Sky would be a bad thing, it would just be great to get another major company involved in cycling.

Interested in what the twitter taliban will say about this - one female in particular who constantly bemoans the UCI treatment of women's racing and also throws accusations about Sky and Wiggo's performances and how he achieved them.

Cath Wiggins does indeed ride a Dolan. Nowt to do with the team's bike of choice though - however much you might rreckon that Mrs Wiggo's going to slip into the team from the track

Great news, the womens olympic RR was way more exciting than the mens and if this team can encourage more female youth/junior racers in the UK, then all the better.

Excellent news and really good to see someone who has earned a good living from the sport putting it back where it is really badly needed.

Any bets on Lizzie Armitstead turning about and joining after her pleas for a British team?

I thought Armitstead didn't want to be part of a GB team. Are you thinking of Emma Pooley? She has just signed for Bigla.
