Query on FSA Chainset for BB30 fitment

Postby stevenb » Tue Nov 06, 2012 19:33 pm

Hi,

I am interested in purchasing item a FSA SL-K Light BB30 compact chainset.
I currently run a FSA Gossamer Pro BB30 chainset and wanted to know that if I were to upgrade to the FSA SL-K Light chainset, would I need to purchase BB Cups/bearings or can I utilise my existing ones?
In other words, off with the old crankset and on with the new one.

Cheers guys.

You won't need to change anything as all BB30 chainsets interchangeable.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I heard that some manufacturers use different spacers/bearings so just wanted to check.
I guess if I stick with a FSA BB30 model I should be fine.
If the chainset I like comes with better bearings it might be worth getting them swapped over too.

Depends on what state your current bearings are in. If they feel fine you might as well keep the new set as spares

Cheers guys.
My bike and chain set are brand new and unused so the bearings should be ok.
