not freewheeling?

Postby turbo1191 » Wed Nov 07, 2012 20:52 pm

just got myself a new defy 1 composite, comes with ultegra.. ordered it over internet and pieced it together. for some reason it is not freewheeling. its as if the rear cassette wont move the opposite way. im not a noob and i know how to assemble things but is there something i have done wrong? Ive checked that the skewer isnt too tight.. can anyone give me any pointers? :?

does it 'freewheel' when not on the bike?

i.e. with the cassette facing you, it doesn't spin clockwise (the whole wheel tries to turn), but will spin anti-clockwise?

Maybe you need a spacer to avoid the cassette catching in the spokes?

Remove the cassette and check the freehub, if it works, you need a spacer
