Can I get a wireless computer to fit on the rear wheel?

Postby NITR8s » Fri Nov 16, 2012 13:06 pm

As per the title says I am after a wireless computer I can fit the sensor to the rear wheel for when I am on the trainer. Has any one managed to find one or recommend one.

Mount the sensor on the crossbar where you can see it

Hi - I just moved mine and then put the watch (Polar) on my seat post and it picked up the signal.

Okay I could not see the details live but it did record my heartbeat, distance etc

Or get a non-wireless one.

I wanted to do this with a wireless computer on the rear wheel of a recumbent, borrowed a few and tried them but nothing seemed to have that range so ended up with a wired one.

ANT+ sensors have incredible range. No reason why you couldn't have speed and cadence on a 'bent. Just procure a Wahoo speed/cad sensor, some heatshrink, some wire and a soldering iron.

Jobs a good 'un.

A Cateye V2C is perfect for this

I've got a Cateye Strada double wireless, sits on the rear stays and does cadance too.

Edit
There is no issue with range.
