Fork oil

Postby naffa » Fri Nov 16, 2012 23:19 pm

Is fork oil d3esigned for motorcycle forks the same as used in push bike hydraulic forks?

Just that in changing the spring on my RS Tora's today I lost some oil and haven't got any to put in.

Thanks Nathan
Cheers Nathan.

If it's the right weight it should be fine. Basically yes.

From another thread...

i seem to remember that some fork oils have a Seal Swelling property??? sure one of the shop peeps on here mentioned it a while back?? (nicklouse, super etc.)

i got mine fromt he local motorbike shop though, loads of different weights and bottle sizes and significantly cheaper than the online bike shops,

my manitous use a synthetic motor oil, bonus being the same as the wifes car uses!

I went to my local motorbike dealer and they wanted £25 for the oil so I've ordered it from Chain Reaction instead. Just means I wont be out riding tomorrow, well not on the 'dirty jo' anyway.
Cheers Nathan.
