chainset comparability

hi there,i have a campag record carbon 53/39 chainset,its a square taper bolted to a 102mm b/b,question, is can i bolt a compact c/set straight on the current b/b without changing anything, apart from the front mech height? cheers.

you should shorten the chain

you can shorten the current chain or use a new chain (but if the old chain hs worn too much you might also have to change the cassette with a new chain)

As long as you can find a compact chainset for square taper, then yes... as above

oh ok guys thanks i was wondering about q-factor and the thought of the inner ring chewing its way into the carbon chainstay :? because of a too short b/b spindle :wink:
