Is this a decent bike?

Postby Samvan77 » Mon Dec 24, 2012 10:31 am

Hi everyone, I have just made an impulse buy and I am now wondering If I spend my money wisely. I am a beginner road cyclist and have just purchased for a 2012 model Giant Defy 2 road bike. Do you any of you have any experience of this bike?

Thanks

In its price range it is one of the best you can buy, rest easy!

Bear in mind that all of the Defy range use the same frame so the difference is made by changing the gearing and finishing kit. Read any review or ask any owner of a Defy and you will see how happy they are with these bikes.

I know, I have one!

It's a decent bike especially for a newbie. Value for money - depends on how much you paid and how much you use it.

Cheers guys thanks for the reassurance, I am really excited about taking it out for its first ride.

@Navrig - I paid £360.00 for it 2nd hand from someone who bought it new 6 months) ago and never used it(pristine condition), it came with two fitted Giant bottle cages and a Cat Eye micro wireless computer but no pedals. I am planning on using it at least three to four times a week so hopefully will get some value from it :D

I would hazard a guess that will the Tiagra model. Good price for a pristine bike with some extras..
