New memorial for Tom Simpson?

Postby durhamwasp » Mon Dec 31, 2012 10:20 am

Above link to an article in The Northern Echo, our County Durham newspaper about discussions to put in place a new memorial to Tom in his birth place of Haswell, County Durham.

Fingers crossed this will happen, we have always thought that the village should do something to honour probably their greatest product, seeing as both Haswell and Bedoin have played their part.

If i find a contact email to show support for this idea i will post it. - Reports on Cingles du Mont Ventoux, Alpe D'Huez, Galibier, Izoard, Paris-Roubaix Sportive & Tour of Flanders Sportive, Amstel Gold Xperience, Vosges, C2C, WOTR routes....

Be nice for him to get some more recognition, your average Joe probably doesn't have a clue who he is!
