Repair stand recommendations

Postby orangatang » Wed Jan 02, 2013 22:24 pm

I am looking to get a stand soon. something that is not to expensive. What stand do you use. What is a good brand.
I was looking at park tool stands, feedback. Really just a stand that works well and wont cost a lot. I'm not going to be torquing anything down. Mostly just use it for light maintenance and cleaning.

I have the Lidl workshop stand and it is very robust for domestic use. I recall that it was just under £30 and retailed as a limited item. The Thursday that these went on sale last year, I was very lucky to grab the last one at 4pm after a friend text me about this item.

Plus 1 for the Lidl one, cannot fault mine apart from it doesn't fit my youngest son's 20" wheeled MTB, then again none of the others did either that i looked at.

Another plus 1 for the Lidl stand, bought it for my dad for Xmas and well impressed, quality build. - Reports on Cingles du Mont Ventoux, Alpe D'Huez, Galibier, Izoard, Paris-Roubaix Sportive & Tour of Flanders Sportive, Amstel Gold Xperience, Vosges, C2C, WOTR routes....

I had the Lidl one - fell to bits when I assembled it.

I currently use Edinburgh Bicycle's one - £50 in their sale but absolutely bombproof. Folds up pretty small & takes about 10 seconds to put up. Grips the bike nice & securely too & the clamp is dead easy to adjust one handed.

Dougall - what did you do to your Lidl stand? Great quality I thought.
