Horrible Horrible news. I always enjoyed watching him ride, he rode like a demon at the Olympics and deserved a podium place.

THoughts with his family and friends!

Very sad for him and his family.

He rode with great heart in the OG when he was detained on the first lap.

I really find these deaths hard to take vis a vis my own feeble attempts to train on the road. Heard recently that England & Wales have 4 million more people now than in 2001. All want to drive (distractedly) to Bluewater. What chance do I have with some polystyrene on my head?
When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.

Only married last year too. Such a shame.

These seem to be happening all too often. There was another pro that died not so long ago (not mentioned on forum).

There's some talk about a ride in London to pay respects. Will post more if I find out.

The death toll on roads in SA over Xmas holiday period was about 1200 - Which is just shocking.

I see the taxi driver is up for a culpable homicide charge.

I remember seeing him in the olympics turning himself inside out in the last lap.
