New to this MTB'ing lark? Come on in...

replacemant crankset

hi, i am new to this site, was looking for a little help please, i have a carrera vegenance ultimate mountain bike, i was loking to replace the crankset which is a shimano f cm 431 (square taper) with the same or a similiar one, so far been unable to find a replacement and not sure what other ones will be compatabile with my bike.

Any reason for the change? Has the old one worn out?

Be aware that you will almost definitely need a new chain though. And a new rear cog set ;-)

hi , thanks, have just fitted a new chain which was the start of my problems with it jumping, have also ordered a new rear casette, so while i was at it i thought i may as well replace the chainset.

Should be ok then! I wouldn't ride it until the part arrives, as the chain will start to bd in to the old stuff.

also forgot to say that my chainset does not have a chaingaurd
