Scirocco 35 or Zonda or carbon?

Postby Riggsy12 » Wed Feb 06, 2013 03:00 am

I have a Ribble 7005 winter bike. Changed a few things on it. I dont race just go for 30mile'ish rides alone 3-4 times a week. I LOVE IT :)

Realy want some 38-50mm carbon wheels but quite expensive... Been looking at Campagnolos Scirocco 35mm instead, much cheaper but still nice and thick... If I buy these instead would I regret it?

I then looked at Zondas, around 200g lighter but dont look as good.

Advice please people

Why would you want carbon wheels on a winter bike? Ride cheaper wheels at this time of year and upgrade in Spring/Summer. Try to resist buying wheels on looks alone.

I think the OP rides a Ribble 7005, he doesn't ride a 7005 as his winter bike.

Go with what you like the look of!

As previously advised, you seem to know what you want, so just get the wheels you like best, you don't need others to tell you what you like...

My current winter wheels are Zondas that I've had for about 6 yrs..previously on my 'good bike'.
They're still true and roll really well with decent tyres on.

As for looks, is it just me or are the Scirocco and Zonda not the same? :?

The Scirocco 35 have a 35mm rim 8) Probably why the Zondas are lighter yeh?
