Saracen Mantra 1 -- UPGRADES! --

Postby declan1 » Sun Aug 12, 2012 18:54 pm

Went for a nice ride today. Weighed the tyres and wheels the other day - each tyre weighs 1.1KG!!! I think that'll be my next upgrade. By spending £100 I could save a total of 2KG from the wheels/tyres.

Anyway here's the latest pic!

I love it. The frame is excellent, but the fork lets it down a lot. Good bike for the money though!

Sorry to hijack the thread but any idea where I could get a rear mech hanger for one of these?

Any LBS who stock Madison, or get the hanger off and identify it and find it cheapest, as it's a Merida frame check out the Carrera Hangers at Halfords for £7.99.

Nice looking bike, although the flipped stem doesn't reall suite the frame style!

Are you sure about that? Generally people have between a 32 and a 36t cassette on a MTB

Look like 7 speed shifters so that would usually have a largest sprocket of 28T....8-32T, 9-34T and 10-36T

All of those are MTB but the word generally doesn't really work!

Gloriously sunny here yesterday evening - took the MTB out for a shakedown after some rebuild work...
