Choosing taillights

Postby Hoopdriver » Fri Oct 05, 2012 06:10 am

With the autumn days getting shorter it is time to start thinking more about visibility and such accessories as taillights. To that end I have written a review of four taillights that I have used over the years

Cateye 1100
Blackburn Mars 3.0
Blackburn Mars 4.0
Smart 1/2 Watt Rear Light

I hope this might be of use

You can read the review here:

My mainstay for the past 5 years has also been the TL1100, for all the reasons you describe, including surviving bouncing down the road on a couple of occasions.

Got the Smart 1/2 Watt too (as part of a winter bundle from Planet X last year); it's on my son's bike at the moment but I have a feeling it's about to become my backup rear light.

highly recommend the RSP Astrium - a bargain, and following cyclists complain it is too bright (so concluded it was the one for me)
