Shimano windstopper all conditions or windstopper thins.

Perfectly made and keep the wind out admirably.

Assos early winter gloves are a favourite of mine which you can add a liner glove to when temperatures fall later in the year. They are a bit on the pricey side though.

I'm on liner gloves with normal mitts.. More than adequate, just keeps the chill off the finger tips.

I've got these - great for cooler weather, breathable and warm if they get wet - and £12

or these - a bit warmer

I've written a review of Assos Early Winter gloves, Endura Deluge and Gore Fusion gloves if that would be any help in choosing something:

The DeFeet Dura gloves mentioned previously are brilliant for this time of year. You can also use them underneath a thicker pair of gloves when the weather gets really cold.

Those are the Defeet Dura gloves with the Prendas logo on.

You can get them cheaper from Wiggle (£12.59), although I like Prendas a lot, and they have really quick delivery, so I would perhaps pay the extra couple of quid to get them from there.

£15.95 at wiggle according to the posted link.

£14.95 at prendas with their logo and improved palm and free delivery. I have order some along with their oversocks :-)

I think £15.95 is for the wool ones. The Prendas equivalents are only £12.59: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/defeet-dura-cycling-gloves/

Ah well pays to do your own research I suppose. Still mine have a prendas logo and palm, so worth the extra :-)

Last winter, when I first started, I used these Mechanics Gloves as I had them anyway.
They did the job and are basically disposeable and come in a pack of 10 so they can binned when they get too snotty lol.

I picked up some Pearl Izumi Thermal Light gloves for £13 from the LBS.. used them yesterday and was impressed -> they're nice a light, but easily warm enough for this time of year.

I kind of liked the name.

I had thought of some more imaginative ones when I was starting out but a friend of mine, a creative director in an American advertising agency told me that often the best names were the simplest and most straightforward - 'goat for sale' if you want to sell a goat, rather than trying to be too clever. In this case the website was to be an outlet for my own cycling inspired writings and photography and so the simple title - My Bicycle and I - suddenly made sense.
