Clip on aero bars for a road bike

Postby Wacka » Thu Oct 11, 2012 23:35 pm

Anyone got advise on a descent set of clip-on aero bars for a road bike. I'm after a set to fit on my Giant Defy 4 budget £90 max.

Cheers

Dead Paribolicas. Cheap, light, comfy. I used them for a 12 hour TT wih no problems.

Sorry for hijack - I was about to post the same question actually.

I want some tri bars for my Gran Fondo.

Ribble have Profile Legacy for £35 (RRP £60. Review: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/aero-bar-clip-on/product/review-profile-legacy-zb-aerobar-11-45137).

However, ive been reccomended the profile airstryke bars because they have spring mounted arm rests that flip up when not in use (so you can still use all of the usual hand rests). These are nearly double the cost of basic bars (RRP £100 , £72 from Ribble) & although i'm on a budget, I liek the idea of not having the rests in the way with normal riding.

My riding is typically short but fast city commuting (very unlikely to be using tri bars!) & 15 mile lunchtime group rides/10mile TTs across the fens (FLAT & WINDY!) where I would expect to be on them.

Anyoen got experience of these?

It takes less than 2 minutes to install and remove clip-ons. Why pay more for such minor convenience?
