Bike Computer

Postby bluedog99 » Fri Oct 12, 2012 11:50 am

Can anybody recommend me a good quality bike computer? I`m not after loads of fuctions, just, speed, average speed, mileage and time. Also a decent sized interface with easy to use buttons. As you can guess. i`m not a tech head. Ant suggestions welcome, cheers.

This one should fit the bill. We have three of these and they work very well.
£24 in Halfrauds but much cheaper here.......

I have the bikeHut one on MTB (white 16 functon one), not bad at all except button on front can be hit and miss.
I have cateye strada wireless on roadie, and thats ok but the fork sensor does seem to move about a bit. I would save a few more pennies and get a gps one, saves any sensors

Cateye Strada double wireless worth a look IMO. Nice and simple to use, has all the function's mentioned in the OP, with cadence - handy for turbo trainer sessions. Merlin cycles were the cheapest when I bought mine.

If you don't want cadence then there's a version without cadence called the 'Strada wireless' . Cateye Micro 10 also worth a look.

The Strada had a much clearer display than the micro.

Thanks once again for the replies, i have had a look at the strada and it seems a decent one, although the bikehut one is a goo price on ebay. I will check some reviews. I think gps will be more than i want to pay. Cheers and thanks again.

Brilliant bit of kit, wish the cadence display font was tad larger but otherwise can't fault it. Cadence is well worth having, great training aid.
