the shifting on those sora`s is actually ok, but i really do hate the thumbshifter and the cabling out in front of you. today i ordered a set of 105 5700 2x10 speed shifters and when i fit them to my 2012 caad 8 it will have the full 105 groupset............ :D

i don't think the sora will ever not have the thumb switch...http://cycle.shimano-eu.com/publish/con ... _road.html

sora's shifters are rubbish...had them on allez annoyed the crap out of as you can't seem to change up 1 at a time, every shift is a double shift.

if the shifter bothers you then upgrade to tiagra which doesn't have the thumb switch but cable is not under the shifters.

Incorrect - they have been updated for 2013 making them much more appealing in my opinion:

They are basically the same as Tiagra now but I quite like the all black look....

Looking at the picture on Cannondales website, it has the new Sora shifter without the thumb button.
Would imagine the rear derailleur is new Sora also, which offers compatibilty with a wider range of cogs for the hills.

Don't know how you came to that conclusion, I have Sora 8 speed shifters and they work a treat, shift 1 gear at a time no problem. Just move the right hand lever in for one click.

A properly indexed bike with sora shifters will shift just fine, its just those dreadful clunky thumbshifters that I dont like.
