Northwave Blade bib tights, they're on offer at probikekit at the mo for £55 instead of £85. I've used them over the past couple of weeks and they're top notch. I'm that impressed i've bought another set, pity that the first set weren't on offer but a bargain at present.

I've never bought padded ones, always worn a cheap pair of shorts over the top.

I'm 5' 9"/10", 11st 12lb and i've got the medium, they're a great fit for me though i'd say that i'm approaching the border of medium/large.

I just got DHB Vaeon Zero Bibtights reduced from £85 to about £68 then another £15 off with a discount code. Unbelieveable good value. Great quality, like the DHB Pace Roubaix tights I got a while ago for an amazing £28. Easily worth twice the price in each case. 5'8", 11.5 stone, size M is perfect.

Same here, same size, weight (ish) and got medium. They are still marginal for me at near freezing temperatures, the wind proofing does its thing well, but some areas of the legs still got a little cold (like the rest of me so may be I just need more layers generally). I also found the seat very slippery on my Selle Italia saddle.

I generally prefer not to ride when icey but to about 1-3 degrees I use normal bib-shorts coupled with some leg warmers. I've never once felt cold leg wise - I have some Gore Windstopper ones. Hands are a different issue though!!!

I like Lusso. For really cold /nasty weather their Max Repel tights are great.

Try wearing the shorts under the longs.
That way you can get a couple of days out of the longs as long as the roads aren't too dirty.
Just change shorts.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Campagnolo tights such as the Heritage Ardenne look a good buy. Don't discount Campag for clothing, even though they have stopped the manufacture of clothing, most of their stuff is good quality and not outrageously priced.
