Kinetic K1 Aerolight wheelset.

Postby Trikeman » Sun Dec 09, 2012 19:53 pm

Hi All,
I really fancy getting an aero set of wheels for the Roubaix, but don't want heavy wheels and can't strech to the big names.

The bike has Ksyrium Elites at the moment (which I am happy with) so don't want to go any heavier, but am after the additional benefit of aero wheels - also trying not to have to sell a kidney in the process (Zipp's etc).

Spotted the Kinetic K1 Aerolights, just over 1500gms at £369 which is quite good for an alloy aero wheel with this weight.

Anyone use these? Recommended? :?:

Any feedback, good or bad appreciated.

Regards,

Trikeman.

Have you ever done the Roubaix? It is not much about aerodynamics, but rather grinding your teeth and enduring the pain. Even in the washed down ASO version you have 20+ km of terrible stones.
Unless you are an experienced master of the stones, it is about survival rather thanperformance

I'm pretty he sure he meant his Specialized Roubaix, not riding the cobbles.

Pro-Lite Braccianos are a bit lighter and cheaper I think. Also worth a look at handbuilts.

Yep, the Specialized Roubaix - not the route, thankfully

Thanks for the wheel recommendation MM - I will check them out.

Thanks both.
