I wanna Buy a Kitchen

Postby rubertoe » Tue Dec 11, 2012 08:30 am

After the spate of all the spam recently. I had the sudden urge to buy a fitted kitchen and low and behold there is no spam today.

Oh well better buy some bike stuff then.

:D :D

Kitchens may be cheaper but where's the fun?

I blame Wiggle!

But they do sell cookers, mixers, juicers, decanters, scourers, taps, hobs, zesters, graters and plugs. Which is a pretty good start.

@Vermin, One assumes that you are a male of the species;

Therefore you MUST sell a prized possession to own a fitted kitchen and then whinge about it for the rest of your life to everyone you meet.

My Whinge; I sold my beautiful Ducati and used the cash to get a fitted kitchen, this is a matter that I usually raise at dinner parties or whenever my wife is demanding that something else needs doing around the house.

Mandatory requirement I am afraid.

I was going to say that I'd sell the missus but

a) she's not "prized" and
b) I'd not get enough to pay for a cupboard handle let alone a new kitchen

My brother sold his drum kit to pay for furnishing his first born son's nursery furniture.

He may never get over it

Your doing it wrong. When my wife wanted a new kitchen my response was, if we can afford a kitchen, we can afford a new motorbike. She got her kitchen, I got my Ducati - since sold to make way for the BMW.

You're all doing it wrong. I had an old Triumph Daytona, wanted a Bonneville. Bought a Bonnie and said I'd sell the Daytona. Seem to have forgotten the selling part. A few years later we needed some funds so I sold the Daytona. EPO was happy and I still had a motorbike.
Everyones a winner.

Where do I fit in if I fitted my own kitchen?
1997 Giant Peloton 7200 - FCN 4 (5 if it looks like rain)
1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)
1980s BSA 10sp

Presumably another winner, as you didn't have to sell any toys to fund it.
I did our kitchen, ripped everything out and pretty much started from scratch. That's when I realised I'm not a plasterer, thankfully kitchen units and tiles cover most of it.
