Ridgeback vs giant vs cube under £500

Postby peterfinch » Fri Dec 21, 2012 15:07 pm

Hi guys,

I am new to the Bikeradar and kinda new to mountain biking, I have been riding a beat up old thing from halfords, and my mates specialize, while trying to save up enough to replace my own bike. I have a budget of about 500 (the less the better...) looking for decent hardtail with disc brakes to get me up and running again.

What I have found so far is:

Cube Aim Disc 2013 :

Cube Attention 2012:
http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/.Cube-2012-Attention-Hardtail-MTB-Bike_125873.htm

Giant Revel 1 2013:

Ridgeback MX4 2012:
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Ridgeback-MX4-Mountain-Bike-2012-Hardtail-MTB_48112.htm

After previous experience of Halfords not a big fan and I will need some finance so kinda rules them out as well.

Is there any of the above that stands out versus the rest as being a better bike??

Thanks

Very much this ^^^

The big names will charge you another 200 quid for a comparable spec.

I'd take the Rockrider if it fits though.
