Shimano SLX CS-HG81 10-speed - changing sprockets

Postby Jangs » Sat Jan 19, 2013 15:18 pm

...I have recently bought a new Canyon. The cassette is 11 12 14 16 18 20 22 25 28 32. The bottom 2 sprockets are way to heavy for me and I want to change them making the range 14 15 16 17 18 20 22 25 28 32. Can this be done? Thanks in advance.

Depends on how your cassette is made up - some of the gears will be joined in groups. Also depends on what you can buy to replace it.

Having 1 tooth increments is not really sensible.

Why not just stay in the 14 and go up the cassette from there?

Generally you can take the cheaper cassettes apart, they're either bolted together or riveted in which case just remove the head of the rivets and you can slide them apart.

You'll need another 10spd cassette to get the required sprockets from
