MTB for a woman

Postby Macdory » Sun Feb 10, 2013 14:52 pm

Hi

I'm trying to get wifey into biking - only looking at lanes and light trails so she can join me with the kids.

Given that she is likely to not use it an awful lot i'm keen not to spend too much, but enough to ensure she isn't put off from the start.

She is a petite build and only 5'2" - would a specific womens bike help? (I'm assuming that shocks etc are adjusted for the lighter weight?)

The Rockrider 5.1 looks like it could fit the bill? Any comments or better suggestions would be greatfully recieved.

Thank you

If you can stretch to the 5.2 it will be a much better bet - better forks, quality gearing, lighter weight and alloy components.

if you go for the 5.1, at least buy a better handlebar and seatpost as the steel ones are a nasty piece of work lol.
