New Carbon Wheels - chain jumps

Postby shaun_wells » Fri Feb 22, 2013 21:33 pm

Just got myself some new carbon 60mm deep dish wheels.. So I got a new sram pc-1070 10 speed cassette, which was the same as the current cassette on my old wheels. Now the chain seems to touch the pickup teeth in the majority of gears which cause's the chain to jump slightly, so no longer a smooth action.

I put the old wheel back on and all is fine, so I've put old cassette on new wheel same problem still, seems like the chain needs to sit a millimetre or two to the right to stop the issue..
Any ideas ? Do different wheels require a spacer sometimes... Any help appreciated.
Shaun.

It means you will have to readjust the cable tension (screw at the rear of the derailleur) and maybe even the two limit screws sitting on the outer plate of the derailleur

Thanks, that was very useful stuff, got it working now... just got to work out why's it will not staying in the lowest gear, keeps jumping of the big cog.. If with the limit screw fully wound in... derailleur cannot go any further.. Going to have another look at w/e.

which wheels?

if they're mavic with the m10 type hub, there's a spacer needed between cassette and hub
