Is price difference of Cube Agree bikes worth the money?

Postby ScottyXTUK » Mon Mar 04, 2013 14:08 pm

Hi

I'm sorry to start a new thread about this but nobody has been able to answer my question yet in my other thread and this is the main one I need opinions on.

I am going to be buying the bike very soon and just need some input before making my decision.

Currently I'm torn between the three Cube bikes below:

Cube Agree GTC Pro
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Agree-GTC- ... _58150.htm

Cube Agree GTC Race
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Agree-GTC- ... _57715.htm

Cube Agree GTC SL
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Agree-GTC- ... _58159.htm

My main question is, is there a big difference between the bikes (apart from price) and would I notice the difference? Is it worth paying £1899 for the SL over the £1395 for the Pro or the £1599 for the Race?

I could at a stretch afford the SL but it is over the budget I was wanting to spend. I am not a racer or anthing, I will use the bike to commute to work in the summer months and as m main bike for weekend and evening rides with my friends. Bear in mind that I live in a very hilly part of Yorkshire so am looking for good performance on hills from the bike also.

I just need some input as I don't want to spend all this money and regret not buying the SL or something but I need to know if I will notice much difference if I do spend the extra.

Cheers

Is there a site that lists what they have ? Thats a poor amount of detail on there - you dont really know what you're getting.

The more expensive bike won't be a third better or faster - thats for sure.

I think the differences are reasonably, fairly priced. It just depends what price point you're prepared to pay for each of the upgrades. Personally, I'd consider any one of them a decent option, but your priorities may be different. I know that every time I look I always talk myself up the range until I realise I've just doubled the budget again!

Ive got last years Agree GTC Race and that was £1800 and is full Ultegra. So for £1899 on the SL you are basically getting the same bike. I doubt you will notice much difference between the top bike and middle bike apart from everything being just that bit smoother but wether thats worth another few hundred quid then thats up to you. I think you would notice a difference between the top (SL) and the lower model though as wheels will be better for a start.

Frame wise they are pretty similar so doubt you will notice any difference there. If i were you i would just buy the top model. You know you want to :-)

BUt seriously, any one of those bikes will be great. My Cube has been a fantastic ride since ive had it, cant fault it really. You will be happy with any of those options. Just dont let some idiot come on here and start asking you why you want a Cube and start pushing you onto other models. The Cannondale mob tend to do that as they get a bit scared their over-the-top priced bike doesnt match the Cube prices for better specs :-)
