Triban 5 A or Specialized Allez

Postby dannyd4315 » Fri Mar 08, 2013 13:27 pm

I am in the process of buying a new bike for commuting across London and occasional rides at the weekend.

I am thinking about getting a spec allez for £550, but have been looking at the new Triban 5 A, its got 2013 Sora and carbon fork at £400

Any advice on which to buy?

I need to get it in the next couple of weeks.

I was also looking at the Trek 1.1 and The Giant Defy 5 and the Scott Speeedster 60?

Thanks

Danny

Check Ash Cycles, they still do the 2012 Defy range at good prices. Got mine from them, couldn't fault them.

You can't miss with Decathlon. I have one of their bikes. Rode todate 3200 miles and two full service under £40 and a change of tires. I have had a few problems but the very friendly staff quickly made them disappear. You will find almost everything under the same roof for your bike - brand names will be hard to find, but the french stuff is descent - can't believe I said that! Sir Wiggo forgive me!!!

The bikes are great, cost effective, great quality and I don't work for them!

Personally i'd go for the Triban 5 or even the 3 over the Allez, sorry specialized i think we pay to much for the name at the minute. The Defy and Trek are good as well cannot comment on the scott though. Don't forget though the bike has to fit you not you fit the bike, so get the one thats comfortable.
