Best MTB for under £300?

Postby Pudderf » Sat Mar 09, 2013 11:27 am

I know you guys must get sick of this question but a little help on this would be greatly appreciated

I've been given a budget of £300 to spend by my better half, I will be mainly using the bike to commute to work a long a canal footpath

I've been debating over these bikes for the last few days...

Rockrider 5.3 - http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-53 ... er_opinion
Mongoose Tyax Comp (2011) - http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.p ... 1b0s2p3411
Carrera Vengeance Mountain Bike 2011/2012 - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165499
Vitus Bikes Vee 29 City Bike 2013 - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... 81000&

There is a very slim possibility I could stretch to £350 mark...

The rockrider is the best there, but the tyax 2012 is worth paying the extra if you want hydraulic disc brakes.
