Who Knows About TV's?

Postby peter413 » Mon Mar 11, 2013 11:04 am

Right, finally going to get rid of my old TV and get a new HD one. Problem is, I'm getting very confused by it all. I've got a budget of around £250 and want one between 26" and 28". It's going to be used for gaming with my 360, movies and normal TV so a built in freeview receiver would be good and it must have the red, green, blue and red and white pins (is that component and composite?) since I don't have a HDMI for my 360. I was looking at the LG M2755D since my brother has one and it seems pretty good but they don't seem to be available anywhere. So what options are there? If I had to choose something to prioritise with, it would be the gaming, don't really watch that much normal TV.

So far I've seen a few Samsung's and other LG's but reviews either claim a slow refresh rate or they aren't full HD. I have seen the LG M2780D in budget and it seems to get good reviews but honestly I don't really have clue when it comes to TV specs. Would this be a good option or do I really need to be upping my budget?

Budget should be fine, but 28 inch is small! Any particular reason you're going with that size?

Any bigger and it won't fit in my room. I've ordered it now anyway. Its a fair bit bigger than my current 19 inch and its only about 2 foot away from me since its hanging above my bed.

You can buy a 1.8m long HDMI cable off Amazon for 97 pence with free P&P.

I ordered one yesterday.
Advocate of disc brakes.
