Oh FFS. I'm so bored of doping chat.

My understanding is that, if you have a TUE, it isn't considered to be doping. It's what Europcar were accused of doing before the start of the last TDF. It's easy to see how riders might fool themselves that they aren't doping and It seems like a pretty risk free way of cheating. I don't understand why they don't close the loophole and prevent riders who are on cortisone from riding, ie enforce the MPCC voluntary code.

*unless of course the doctor admits that you didn't have an injury in the first place.

Interesting. Would like to see Gilberts TUE for last season.

I don't recall hearing a story about Gilbert testing positive and then producing an exemption certificate so I can only assume that race authorities were aware of his exemption and did not feel the need to question it.

I'm sure the prescribing doctorwill be able to justify the prescription...

I know its only a press report & they have not printed the while Gilbert response but think his is quite good.

Interesting that the paper does not comment either way on their "source" as to why this is now raised and if their use was allegedly illegal too?
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

In response to a question that it appears was never asked, Thomas Dekker rode for Silence Lotto in 2009.
