threadless headset wobble for a 700c hybrid

Postby starastin » Sat Mar 16, 2013 21:59 pm

Hello everyone !

Finally decided to join the forums (been reading BR long time). Well - had to because there is a problem I can't seem to fix.

So I'm refurbishing this single speed 700c hybrid almost finished, but the semi integrated headset wobbles. I have just changed the headset it self with the bearings. the washer is still the old one. I did the change at home without the specific tools albeit carefully. it's the same wobble I had when I just got it and noticed it after putting the stem on.

could the washer be the problem or is it that I would just need to use proper tools to set it all up together ?

many thanks,
D.

Is the fork too long so that there is not 3mm gap between the top of the fork and the top of the stem. This is the first thing to check.
