Restaurants for a large group, near old street

Postby iPete » Tue May 07, 2013 10:41 am

I've been lax in my organisation skills and the restaurant I wanted to head to, Red Dog Saloon, is fully booked.

Not uber expensive, chilled out, decent rep, food and beers. Suggestions?

Fifteen is not far http://www.fifteen.net/....

Dishoom have a branch in Shoreditch now not been there but the Covent Garden one is excellent. http://www.dishoom.com/shoreditch/

http://www.thaithaioldstreet.co.uk/ on Old Street is ok. But there are better Thai places in the city.

I can second Dishoom, awesome food in the C.G. one, so good that even the in-laws enjoyed it (Bengali and michelin star food snobs!). Good for groups too.
Raynes Park ---> Victoria currently avoiding good old CS7 (I love Tooting!)
Back at it on a purple Condor Fratello Disc. RIP Italia and Scourer! Au revoir 00!

Obviously a bit late now, but if you want something like Red Dog try Bodean's (a few branches dotted around town).

cheers all booked in now but will look it up. Want to go back to pitt cue, the most un-assuming front but the best food I've had in ever but you can't book and it's tiny.

Stop telling people about PittCue, it's the fight club rule, it takes me long enough to get a table without half of the forumites and their mates in the queue.

Worth a visit, decor and vibe is cool (wouldn't expect any different in that part of town), the food was lovely, much much better than anything I've ever had on Brick Lane and was shocked at how little we spent. Deffo be going back.

p.s. Did i mention how bad Pitt Cue is? don't go...

Glad you enjoyed it. You have to go some to find good indian food in this country as most of it is "British Curry" and not good at all. Dishoom do damn fine food!
