Getting a good deal from LBS?

Postby dpGoose » Tue May 07, 2013 10:47 am

After riding a hybrid for many years and recently getting into triathlons I have decided to get myself a road bike. I think I have settled in a Trek Domane 2.3 or 4.3. I spotted an advert in one of the cycling magazines for Pedal On near Reading. They have the bike at the same price as everywhere else but have a deal where you can get *lots* of accessories for free (around £250 worth of decent stuff). Unfortunately they are a good couple of hours away and would require two visits (one for fitting and one to pick it up). I would prefer to use one of the LBSs but I haven't found any that do any kind of deals according to their web sites. Does anyone know of any good shops in Beds/Bucks that would do a reasonable deal? I'm thinking of some pedals/water bottle cage/shoes.

Ask, and offer to pay cash or finance - most shops can be a bit flexible as long as you're not trying to take the wee-wee
