Play in X0 mech

Postby RockmonkeySC » Mon Aug 19, 2013 07:51 am

I have a year old X0 DH which has some play in the top pivot, where it bolts to the hanger.
It looks like a plain bush, is it possible to replace it?
I really don't want to spend £130 on a new mech.

Doubt it'll cover "wear and tear". Unfortunately I've found this is the problem with Sram mechs of late, I would get maybe 3 months from an X7 before it was toast except it was all of the pivots hence why I switched to Shimano, XT is over a year old now and still solid. I know that doesn't help you though.

I would think it should be replaceable but it probably won't be easy sourcing the part. Maybe try sending Sram an email or talking to your LBS to see if they deal with them.

Have a look at sram tech pdf downloads . Sram website service section , at first glance most parts are available. Also note chain reaction and evans cycles nearer £60.00 for new mech .

My local shop contacted SRAM to order the bush and SRAM don't do any mech spares any more.
The cheapest I can find an X0 DH short cage 10 speed mech is £125. Certainly nowhere even close to £60. Is that for a 9 speed?
