Comfortable seat

Postby cmhill79 » Wed Sep 18, 2013 07:52 am

Hi Folks
I was recently complaining about how uncomfortable the seat was on my new bike (first world problem). It seems a seat is one of those things that you need to sit on for five hours before you realize it fits or not which makes purchasing a new one a little difficult. Is it something that will soften up as time goes on?

your bum needs to toughen up for sure..

then if your saddle still isnt right you can go to your LBS and ask if they have a saddle trail going on where you can loan a saddle to see if its right before you buy

i went from a charge spoon to a fizik arione and am now a happy rider

Really it will boil down to personal preference but I always recommend Charge Spoons if anyone asks.

I'm a fan of Specialized Romins. Maybe try a local Specialized dealer, get your bum measured and see if they can loan you one in the right size.

I went to a couple of shops and tried all their saddles out by putting them on a step and sitting on them, one by one, until I found one I felt comfortable on. Then I bought it. It's still comfy many thousands of miles later.

Bontrager do a 30 day comfort guarantee, measure you for the seat and after 30 days if you're not totally satisfied, take it back no quibble and get money back.. just done a c2c on it, having only had it a week, and very comfortable indeed

I went from a Charge Spoon to a fizik aliante VS and then back to a Spoon. My bum didn't like the Fizik as much as my eyes did.

Only seat I've ever seen on a bike is one of these

or do you mean a saddle?

The review that picture is from said the seat is comfortable for rider and passenger though
